Treatment for plantar fasciitis

Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis, in essence, is the medical term for the inflammation of the part of your foot that connects your toes to your heel bone, running all the way through the bottom of your foot. Typical symptoms can include pain throughout the foot, notably in the heel and around the arch, and typically it’s worse in the morning. While there are a few things that you can do to alleviate certain symptoms, such as resting and using ice packs, at Jane Reynolds and Associates, we offer extensive combined therapy treatments to help you deal with plantar fasciitis. If you have symptoms of plantar fasciitis, foot pain, or inflamed ligaments and muscles in your feet, come down to our Eastbourne osteopathy clinic to arrange an appointment.

Treatment for Plantar Fasciitis in Eastbourne

At our Eastbourne clinic, Jane Reynolds, BSc OST, is the resident specialist for plantar fasciitis. Having been treated for plantar fasciitis herself by Mr Neil-Ascher, an osteopath who developed a new protocol for treatment, she brought back cutting-edge methods for plantar fasciitis treatment to Eastbourne. This involves the use of acupuncture needles into three specific muscles of the foot, and stretching of these muscles and the calf muscles. Jane does not recommend some of the stretches and other treatments offered by physiotherapists and doctors. Her success rate in treating this condition is very high.

The protocol involves between 4 and 8 treatments of medical acupuncture and osteopathic manipulation of the affected foot/feet and calf/calves and maybe the knees and hips if involved.
